About the station
Hønefoss station opened in 1868 when Randsfjordbanen line was completed. The current station building was commissioned in 1909 at the opening of Bergensbanen line.
Most of Bergensbanen's trains have been run over Drammen instead of over Roa since the end of the 1980s. Although the distance is approx. 23 kilometers longer to Oslo via Drammen, the driving time is approximately the same for both sections.
There are no ticket sales at the station, you buy ticket at the train.
